The Rotary Foundation supports the Basic Education and Literacy of both the children and the adults. Through the Rotary’s Basic Area of Focus on Education and Literacy, the Rotary Clubs and its Rotarians are encouraged to conduct and promote projects that can help children to attain the basic education they need, and for the adults too to gain knowledge that can contribute in their basic economic need, social responsibility and even to help increase their professional efficiency or capability.
On July 16, 2021, making use of the online tools of learning, the Rotary Club Manila South’s LCP Atty. Mario Dionisio, conducted a webinar in cooperation with the Department of Education, MIMAROPA Region, wherein he gave lectures to the different heads of the Elementary and High Schools, throughout the region, as well as to their guidance counselors, and also to other persons in charge, with the care and well-being of school children, and taught them the needed knowledge to be used in the protection of the children against child abuse, discrimination and exploitation.
Rotary International helps protect the right of a child to education and also promotes the well-being of an adult through the promotion of adult literacy .
